Many people who want to watch Hulu outside The US don't know that you can do so with a Hulu VPN. I'll explain what a Hulu VPN is and where to get one in this article.

When you want to watch Hulu outside The US but can't, it's because of your IP address. This is a string of numbers attached to your computer that identifies is as opposed to all the billions of other computers in the world. The number is unique and can be used to trace your computer, or at least the Internet connection you're using. When you access an Internet source that is not in the borders of The US and try to stream video from Hulu's site, Hulu recognizes these numbers and can see that you are not in America. It then rejects your video the, "Sorry" page that you've come to know and hate.

A Hulu VPN is a way to change this IP address that gets you rejected into one that gets you accepted. When you sign into the VPN server, as long as the sever is in The USA, you get an American IP. Well, most of the time this is true. In some instances, because the IP address you are assigned is not a real IP, and is only "virtual" there can be a mix-up. Sometimes even though I sign into a VPN sever that is in The USA, Hulu will read my IP as being somewhere else in the world. Most of the time signing out and signing back in will change this. This is why when you purchase a Hulu VPN it's best to find a service that allows free switching of servers. You may find that certain servers are problematic and may want to switch between them. Being able to do so freely is definitely a plus.

Once you're signed into the Hulu VPN you don't have to worry about much. Just type the Hulu URL into your browser window and choose the video you want to watch. Easy as that.

One problem I run into every now and then with my Hulu VPN is that even though I'm signed into the VPN and my IP address is registering as an American IP, Hulu still doesn't allow me to stream video. This is because your Internet browser, especially Firefox in this case, stores cookies from web sites to make your browsing experience quicker and more convenient. However, because these cookies store data about your IP address and other personal data, they can tip Hulu off as to your location. Simply clear you cookies from the Hulu site (or all your cookies if you want) and then go back to Hulu. This should fix you up.

There are many places to get a Hulu VPN, and each service will differ slightly in price, features, customer service, speed, and reliability. Usually, the larger the company, the better the service. This is not always true when you buy stuff online, but in the case or purchasing a Hulu VPN, I have found this to be true. There are usually one, three, six, and twelve month contract periods available and prices will differ accordingly.
